OUR NEW INTERN AT MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL

My name is Arooba Chaudhry, and I am a senior at the University of Illinois at Chicago majoring in Applied Psychology. I have been an intern at the Life Directions organization since January 2014. My experience has been very beneficial to me both personally and professionally. Since I began interning with the Peer Motivation program at Marshall Metropolitan High School, a CPS Turnaround School, I have learned to challenge students to be their best selves to meet the obstacles they face. The “turnaround” begins with each young person. I truly cherish the experience I am gaining from Life Directions. I also enjoy helping out at the office with anything that needs to get done. Life Directions is a very close-knit and caring organization, and I am very thankful for getting the opportunity to be a part of their staff. I know that the experience I am attaining will help me in my future pursuance of a career in Organizational Psychology.
